Joseph's Storehouse Fund
The Joseph's Storehouse Fund is a specific account set up in the Jubilee books to facilitate our benevolence ministry. This is a fund designed to accumulate donations that will be available to help those in need, especially in times of crisis, in the areas we have been called to serve.
Below are some of the ways your donations will be/have been used to help victims of the Haiti earthquake . . .
- Local Pastors -- One of JWM's top priorities during crisis situations is to make sure that local pastors and their families are cared for. This enables these pastors to minister to the people who are coming to them for help. Currently, almost every pastor in the Dessalines district has refugees in their homes and/or churches.
- Work for Food Program -- While initial needs are for quick relief, intermediate solutions for food, clothing, and shelter are critical for the stabilization of Haiti. "Work for Food" not only provides much needed supplies and money for those affected by the earthquake, it also helps restore honor to those in need while having a positive effect on their community.
- Agricultural Cooperative Fund -- Without a future harvest, the needs in Haiti will simply be multiplied. Our desire is to see every field in the Dessalines district in full production by the next harvest. Therefore, we are setting aside funds for an agricultural cooperative among the Christian farmers in this region.
- Emotional and Spiritual Trauma Teams -- "The Spirit of the Lord God is upon Me, because He has anointed Me . . . to heal the brokenhearted . . . to comfort those who mourn . . . to give them beauty for ashes, the oil of joy for mourning, the garment of praise for the spirit of heaviness . . . " (Isaiah 60:1-7). The one thing that Jubilee World Missions offers that most relief organizations do not is the ability to minister to the "whole" person - body, soul and spirit. Grief, fear, and anger are just a few of the issues that earthquake survivors are facing now and will continue to face in the days and months ahead. Jubilee is committed to mobilizing teams of Spirit-filled Christians to minister to these who have been so greatly wounded in the unseen areas of their lives.
